About Brett

Brett’s whakapapa connects him to both Ngāti Kahu and Te Rarawa iwi in the far north, though he was raised in the deep south of Murihiku. With over 30 years of distinguished experience in the construction industry, Brett has advanced from an accomplished fitter and welder to a design engineer, contributing to major projects across Australasia.

A Trade Qualified Heavy Steel Fabricator, Brett also holds an NZCE in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering Technology Degree. Furthering his expertise, he completed a Diploma in Architectural Technology at SIT and honed his abilities as an Architectural Designer with the esteemed local firm, MAS Architecture. This blend of experience affords him a comprehensive understanding of diverse construction systems, enabling him to seamlessly integrate engineering and architecture in crafting innovative designs.

Outside of his professional life, Brett is a dedicated husband and father to two daughters. His passion for design is matched by his love for the outdoors, where he enjoys waka ama and diving for kai moana.
